About Frank

 

Frank O’Brien, M.A., LPA is a licensed psychological associate (NC License #6817) based in Western North Carolina.  He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology through Arizona State University and master’s degree in clinical psychology through Western Carolina University.  He is trained in comprehensive psychological assessment including cognitive and academic testing as well as assessment for personality and mood disorders.  Prior to joining Collin Testing, Frank worked as a therapist for individuals, groups, couples, and families in the Asheville, NC area.  He has worked with a variety of clients and has expertise working with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and personality disorders.

In the assessment process, Frank strives to go beyond simply assigning a diagnosis. Rather, he emphasizes providing clients with education and insight into the unique blend of cognitive abilities, personality, mental health, and personal history, the combination of which tends to shape experiences across various settings in life.  He utilizes his education in clinical psychology and his experience as a therapist to provide clients with a clear roadmap toward improving their mental wellness.
